Excursion 2018, On the afternoon of Tuesday 20th November 2018 Jemma. Nairne Charna Williams Ella Hickson and I caught the Rail Link. bus from Dunedoo to Lithgow Railway Station From there we. caught the train to Sydney Central Station arriving at approxi. mately 8 30 pm, We were greeted by the ASPIRE team and along with students. and teachers from a wide variety of rural schools we were tak. en to our motel in Sydney East Darlinghurst where we were. fed Subway before receiving our itineraries and lights out. On Wednesday we went to the Australian Film Television and. Radio School AFTRS where we learned about film making. Each school was set the challenge of creating a 12 shot film ful. ly edited and incorporating a variety of camera angles shots. background music and voiceovers, We then travelled around the Sydney CBD on an open air dou. ble decker bus to soak up the sights These included The Opera. House Harbour Bridge Observatory Hill China Town and. Coogee Beach where we had a late afternoon surf lifesaving les. son and swim All the while we were gathering footage on our I. pads for the film, On Thursday we spent the day at The University of New South. Wales UNSW campus where we learned about scholarships. university life student accommodation and an excellent ro. botics session where we coded robots to take part in a sumo. wrestling tournament Later in the day we all assembled to edit. our footage and present our final 12 shot film for all to see We. did a great job but were pipped at the post by Gilgandra High. School Later that night we travelled to Westfield Eastgardens. where we had dinner at Bondi Pizza before ending the night at. Hoyts Cinemas watching The Crimes of Grindlewald, We travelled home early on Friday exhausted but exhilarated.
